About Hana
Hana Mohammad was born in Mankato, MN on June 4th, 1992.
Hana was a first generation Pakistani American and third generation German American. She graduated from Fridley High School in Fridley, MN. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development and Business Marketing & Education with a minor in Leadership from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Hana later graduated from Capella University with a master’s degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services.
Hana was most recently employed by the Minneapolis Public Schools as a Social Justice School Counselor. As a counselor, she worked with Jenny Lind students in classrooms, small groups, and individual counseling. In addition, she served as the Adult Advisor for 4th and 5th grades Student Council. Hana was a dedicated systemic change agent who embraced her role as advocate, leader, and collaborator by providing equitable educational access and success.
Hana also coached basketball for 3+ years and soccer for 6+ years. She enjoyed spending time immersing herself in other cultures and advocating for what is right. Her passion was exploring identities and the intersectionality that creates each unique person.
Unfortunately, for her family and students, Hana passed away on September 8th, 2021. It is in her memory that Beacons of Influence and Avimoe are hosting a fundraising campaign to offer scholarship opportunities to students attending college.

We had two close calls! Golfer Nathan Kuhn landed within a couple of feet of the hole. Golfer Mark Lysne landed on the green and then hit the pin.
Pie In The Face Donation Challenge
Our dinner guests voted with their dollars on who they wanted to see get a pie in the face: Mo, Khurram, or Ghulam. The contest raised over $4,000.

About Our Guest Speaker
Cheryl Bissonette, MA, LMFT at Full Circle Counseling
As a marriage and family therapist, I take a holistic approach to treating my clients. My style is accepting and non-judgmental as I strive to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all. I evaluate and treat mental and emotional disorders, other health and behavioral problems, and address a wide array of relationship issues within the context of the family system. My education and training help me to expand on the traditional emphasis in therapy and attend to the dynamics of individuals in relationships. Whether clients come to therapy alone or with a partner, I help my clients explore how their relationships shape their sense of self. I take an integrative perspective to treatment, and I am concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul Minnesota. I have worked with Early Childhood Mental Health (0-5 years old), families, individual adults, and couples. I am certified in Prepare- Enrich for pre-marriage/relational counseling and as a Circle of Security facilitator, which is an early intervention program for parents and caregivers. I am also trained in Relational Life Therapy (RLT) for couples therapy and provide neurofeedback therapy.
“Beacons of Influence raised $49,045 for the scholarship fund! In memory of our Grandmother, who passed away the evening of the event, the Mohammad family will donate $955 to bring the total to $50,000.”
