Our Purpose
The purpose of Beacons of Influence (BOI) is to address the gap in technical education by promoting it as a viable post-secondary opportunity and providing scholarships to qualified students choosing a technical education.
About Us
Beacons of Influence raises, manages, and distributes resources to support, enhance and promote the educational opportunities technical colleges offer the people of the region. Because achieving dreams of a better life may be financially challenging, Beacons of Influence is committed to raising funds for scholarships. Beacons of Influence is a charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) and is funded by local donors. Contributions to Beacons of Influence are fully tax-deductible.

The Ghulam Mohammad Scholarship
Beacons of Influence provides technical school scholarships to qualified students for a 2-year commitment. The winners are determined by a scholarship review committee.
The Hana Mohammad Scholarship
Beacons of Influence provides scholarships to qualified students from Fridley High School in honor of the late Hana Mohammad through the Hana Mohammad Scholarship Golf tournament.
